PRE ORDER TODAY FOR DELIVERY IN OCTOBER 2024
Everything need to recreate this beautiful version of Endellion. This colourway was first imagined by my test knitter, Hyeja Otsuki, and I have sourced some beautiful pure wool yarn from BC Garn in Ginger, Charcoal and Snow. "Semilla Melange GOTS" is a lofty woollen-spun yarn, with a rustic appearance and yet a soft feel next to your skin. The yarn is a Light DK, and a little finer than the yarn called for in the pattern so your gauge will be slightly different, and you may need to size up, but I will send you all the information you need when you buy the kit.
The kit includes all the wool you will need to recreate this colour way, in your size, as well as the pattern, which will be sent to you as a pdf.
About the pattern:
A seamless unisex sweater, Endellion is knit using different patterns for different parts of its body. It features medallion motifs on the front and back yokes and regal-like motifs decorate the wide-fitting raglan sleeves. The colourwork fabric in light DK wool makes for a thick and luxurious fabric. A majestic sweater designed to make you feel like a queen (or king!) wrapped in wool!
Knit top-down and in the round, using just 3 colours (light, medium and dark), once the neck (choose between a turtle or crew neck) has been knitted you will divide the front and back yokes, and left and right sleeves and then make gradual increases to shape the shoulders as you follow from the colourwork Charts. The body and sleeves are then separated at the underarms and knitted separately. Keep the body in a dark contrasting colour for a dramatic and flattering look, or play around with the colour order for a completely different look.
Level of difficulty and skills required
Adventurous. This pattern is for you if you are already experienced in stranded colourwork knitting and looking for a new challenge. The patterning which gives the design its unique look requires experienced tensioning and catching floats due to some very large floats at the back. Be aware that most of the patterning also requires 3 colours per round. Knowledge of chart-reading, Short Rows and Tubular cast-on/bind-off is assumed.
Gauge Using Semilla Melange (in colourwork pattern)
10 x 10 cm = 21 stitches x 21 rounds on 4 mm needles.
